The release of the Jaguar F-Type in 2013 is one of the most significant moments in recent times for Jaguar Land Rover.

There has been only a single generation of the model since its release, but it did undergo a significant facelift in 2019.

Besides this, there have also been a number of notable variants. The first of these came in 2014, with the release of the coupe model.

Only two years later, the high-performance SVR version made its debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

The SVR GT4 variant was then unveiled in 2018. The SVR version became the first production Jaguar to reach 322 km/h since the famous Jaguar XJ220.

There are a number of trim options for the F-Type. These start with the entry-level P300, followed by the P380, P450, and R P575.

Competition for the F-Type typically comes from the likes of the Porsche 718 Cayman, Toyota GR Supra, BMW Z4, and others depending on the region.

The F-Type had a number of engine options since launch. All of these are focused on performance and are on the large side. These start with the smallest engine, a supercharged 3.0 L V6, and range to a very powerful supercharged 5.0 L V8.

As of 2018, a smaller turbocharged 2.0 L inline-4 was made available as the entry-level option.

Jaguar has not offered a single diesel or hybrid powertrain yet, and likely will not for the F-Type.

The grand tourer saw a huge amount of success, earning Jaguar universal praise. It was so well received that it can be seen in the shared styling seen throughout the Jaguar range nowadays.
