The Aircross variant first joined the C3 lineup in 2010 for the Latin American market. It then remained there until 2020.

It was also released as a standalone model for the European market in 2017, where it has been a staple ever since.

During its time on the market, there have only been two models under the nameplate. The first of these was heavily based on the C3 Picasso, which also counts as its predecessor. This model also received a facelift in 2016.

There was also the C4 Aircross, which is not actually a new version. This was a variant sold in the Chinese market until it was discontinued in 2020.

The subcompact crossover has typically gone up against the likes of the Ford Puma, Renault Captur, and SEAT Arona. It also shares a striking number of similarities with its platform-mate, the Opel/Vauxhall Crossland X.

Powertrains have included two petrol and two diesel options for the European version. Both of the petrol models use the same 1.2 L inline-3, but the high-performance version is fitted with a turbocharger.

Diesel engines consist of either a 1.5 L or a 1.6 L inline-4.

Citroen has mated these engines with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. However, there was a 5-speed manual option that was available until it was retired in 2020.

There has been a wide selection of trim levels on offer for the C3 Aircross. The most notable of these have consisted of the C-Series, C-Series Edition, Feel, Flair, Origins, Rip Curl, Shine, Shine Plus, and Touch. However, it is likely that there are plenty of others for each different region.
