Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, the C3 Picasso took over from the Xsara Picasso, and was built as an MPV, it could now compete with cars like the Nissan Note and Renault Modus.

For Spain, Citroen offered three trims, the LX, SX and Exclusive, the former the more basic offering and the latter containing the most features.

Unlike most cars, the passenger seat of the C3 Picasso could be completely folded forward opening up a large storage compartment. Other premium features included tinted windows, an all-leather interior, chrome trimming, automatic window wipers, rear parking sensors, a pollen filter and automatic climate control. All C3 Picassos at this point were fitted with ABS and 5 seats with the three rear seats folding flat.

Sharing a platform with the Peugeot 207 (a result of the PSA Peugeot Citroen group), the Citroen C3 Picasso was eventually replaced by the C3 Aircross which was designed to take on vehicles like the Nissan Juke and Renault Captur.
