For 9 years the Cadillac STS served as the American automobile manufacturer's mid-sized 4 door luxury sedan.

Cadillac positioned this model to be the flagship car of the company and priced it higher than its slightly larger DTS model.

It took over from the SeVille which had served 30 years in the same spot in the company previously.

The old SeVille model was front-wheel-drive while not popular with American car buyers it does possess the benefit of being slightly lighter.

Sales didn't go well for the model and it was quickly replaced by the CTS and the XTS in 2011 with both outperforming this model.

It was carried on in China for 2 more years due to its surprising popularity there - their model was longer and had more features as well as a face-lift the American version never got.

A high-performance trim of the STS was released called the STS-V which boasted a Northstar supercharged V8 pushing out almost over 45bhp and powering all four wheels.
