Launched in 2002 and discontinued in 2019 the Cadillac CTS is an executive car that stretched across three generations.

Sales grew quickly to over 60,000 sold in the year 2005 though as the price of oil spiked the descent began and the car suffered for almost 15 years of declining sales.

In 2019 the CT5 model was released by the American luxury automobile manufacturer to take over in the sector, it used the same platform as the third-generation CTS did.

Originally the car was built on a shared platform with STS and SRX though when the second-generation was introduced in 2008 the car sat on a platform only it used.

This changed though in 2014 when the third and final generation was introduced, now the car shared its chassis with the ATS and Chevrolet Camaro.

Keeping to the tradition of the company and what many American car buyers prefer the car is rear-wheel-drive and powered by a variety of different sized engines.

In the final generation of this Cadillac, customers could choose from a modest 2 liter turbocharged engine to a performance-centric 6.2 liter supercharged V8 as part of the CTS-V trim.

Around 35,000 examples of the CTS-V were sold in total across the three generations.
