Brought in for the 2006 model year, the Jeep Liberty was designed to be the 5/7 seater version of the Jeep Liberty.

The American auto manufacturer wanted to target customers who wanted a Jeep Grand Cherokee sized off-road truck but with the additional third row of seating.

Under the bonnet was some of the most advanced off-road technology available at the time as well as premium interior comfort features such as a Boston Dynamics sound system.

Engine choices ranged from the modest 3.7 liter gasoline V6 to a more torque-heavy 5.7 liter Hemi V8 for performance-focused customers.

Much like the rest of the Jeep models on sale, this one has s great off-road capability as well as an ideal towing seating position and the chassis strength to back it up.

A diesel engine option was offered for buyers outside of the USA with 3 litres of displacement and a turbocharger fitted.

For 5 years the Commander ran alongside the rest of the Jeep fleet before being discontinued in 2011 with the sister-brand Dodge carrying the torch with the Durango model.
