Citroen first released the C3 in 2002 and the supermini has remained on the market ever since.

During its time on the market, three generations have been unveiled. The third and latest of these first hit the markets in 2016.

As its name suggests, it sits between the C2 and C4 in the Citroen lineup.

In 2020, this version was given a modest facelift that featured updated front headlights and the addition of new colors.

Trim levels have changed over the years, depending on the generation. Some of the newer versions consist of the Touch, Feel, and Flair packages.

The C3 has also been sold as various other vehicles altogether. These include the Aircross and Picasso, which are a crossover SUV and a MPV based on the C3. There was also a convertible version released as well called the C3 Pluriel.

Other similar models from outside of the French automaker include the Hyundai i20, Peugeot 208, and Renault Clio.

Citroen has offered a wide range of petrol and diesel engines for the C3. These have typically changed with each generation.

Petrol options have ranged between a 1.1 L inline-4 through to a 1.6 L inline-4. Diesel options have ranged similarly, starting with a 1.4 L inline-4 and topping off with the 2.0 L inline-4 found in the first generation.

There has been a wide range of transmissions as well. These have mainly consisted of 5-speed and 6-speed manuals, as well as automatics from 4-speed to 6-speed.
