Known briefly as the ix35 in some markets before returning back to its original name, the Hyundai Tucson is a South-Korean compact crossover SUV.
Its slightly smaller than the Santa Fe and a bit bigger than the Kona models from the same automobile manufacturer.
The Tucson has seen amazing success in the SUV market and is the best selling SUV in the Hyundai fleet.
Originally launched in 2004 it was built on the same platform as the Elantra and the second generation Sportage.
Production of the car takes place in many different plants around the world to serve the different regions it does well in, including India, Russia and Brazil.
In 2020 the most recent version of the car hit showrooms and sported a more aggressive appearance and a range of more efficient engines.
2020 models also saw a hybrid option added to the order sheet which encorporates a 1.6 turbo-diesel engine with an electric motor to capture lost energy during braking to recycle later.
A longer version is also sold in China called the Hyundai Tucson L that features mores space in the rear seating area to capitalise on the chauffeur driven segment popular in that country.
