The QX30 joined the huge list of crossovers on the market when it was unveiled in 2016. However, declining popularity of the entire Infiniti brand saw both this model and the company as a whole pulling out of the European market in 2019.

This meant that only a single generation was manufactured in the three years it stayed on the market. For the entirety of this time, the QX30 was produced in the United Kingdom.

As its name indicates, this is a crossover version of the Q30, putting it in the subcompact crossover SUV class. Other rivals include the Mercedes-Benz GLA, BMW X1, and Audi Q2.

Interestingly, both this model and the Q30 are hugely based on the first-gen Mercedes GLA and the third-gen Mercedes A-Class.

The main differences between the two Infiniti offers are the typical changes that manufacturers use to make a crossover. This includes redesigned front and rear fascia, rugged black plastic exterior panels, and an increased ride height.

The 5-door SUV was offered with either FWD or AWD, depending on the engine in question.

Powertrains consisted of either a 1.6 L inline-4 or a 2.0 L. Both of these were turbocharged and taken straight from Mercedes-Benz. A single diesel option was also released - a turbocharged 2.2 L inline-4.

These were coupled with only a single 7-speed automatic transmission. These were exclusively dual-clutch systems.

Unlike a number of other luxury car makers, Infiniti did not offer their crossover SUV in a hybrid powertrain, despite them becoming hugely popular in the past few years.
