Launched in 2008 and classed as a compact car like the Picanto from the same South Korean automobile manufacturer is the Kia Forte.

It goes by many names around the world including the K3 in South Korea, the Cerato in South America and the Shuma in China.

The model was brought in to replace the aging Spectra line and the Cerato model in many territories, though in some places the Cerato name is still used for this model.

Underneath all three generations of the Forte is the same platform used by partner company Hyundai for its Elantra.

Production of the car takes place in multiple regions around the world including Russia, Iran and China.

Until the third-generation Forte was released in 2018 the car was available in 3 different styles: a coupe, sedan or hatchback.

With the release of the third-generation model, the hatchback and coupe styles were discontinued and now the car comes as a liftback or sedan - appearing longer.

New Forte's not only appeared more stylish but is slightly larger than its predecessors although the wheelbase is exactly the same due to the same platform being used.

Sales have continued to climb year-on-year hitting new highs of almost 200,000 units sold per year in recent times.
