Hitting the roads for the first time in early 2012 is the Peugeot 208, a supermini that was designed to take over from the 207 line.
First cars rolled off the production line in 2012 and the company had plenty of assembly plants around the world to serve their neighboring regions to keep customer prices down.
It is classed as a supermini like the Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Golf, an important sector of car sales that can achieve massive revenue if done properly.
These types of cars have been known to be a great platform to offer a wide variety of trims to target massive audiences around the globe.
The 208 is no different, starting with engines ranging from a modest 1-liter gasoline for those watching the fuel meter all the way through to a nippy 1.6 gasoline on the first edition.
When the second generation was released in 2019 the car was re-imagined with a much more modern exterior styling to help it keep up with the rest of the French automobile manufacturer's range.
A smaller displacement engine with a turbo-charger was made available in the second edition to help the car sell in China where cars are taxed based on engine size.
Sales figures for this car are hard to find but in 2012 and 2013 the first edition hit sales of around 300,000.
