The RAM ProMaster, which essentially represents the North American version of the Fiat Ducato, is a light commercial version that first made its debut 1981.

There has only been one generation of the RAM Trucks version of the ProMaster currently. Despite this, the model was given a facelift in 2019, which included a new front fascia and other exterior changes.

Besides being a rebadged version of the Ducato, it has also been sold as the Peugeot Boxer, Citroën Relay, and Opel Movano. These variants were sold depending on the market in question.

The ProMaster range consists of three models of varying sizes These are the smallest 1500, followed by the 2500, and the 3500. This fits in line with the rest of the RAM Trucks range like their pickup truck.

RAM currently sells the ProMaster in several different configurations, most of which are typically found in light commercial vehicles.

These include low and high-roof cargo vans, chassis cab, and window vans. There is also a cutaway chassis cab that is often used for motor homes.

The various wheelbases, which range between short, regular, and long, are sold as an option for customers. There is also the smaller version which is called the ProMaster City.

All of these models are powered by a 3.6 L Chrysler Pentastar V6. This was updated recently to the new Pentastar Upgrade engine in 2021. Diesel powertrains were limited to a 3.0 L Chrysler EcoDiesel inline-4, but these were discontinued altogether in 2019.

These engines have been mated with either a 6-speed or a 9-speed automatic transmission for the diesel and petrol models respectively. A 6-speed manual gearbox was also sold for the model.
