The Ford F-350 is a staple of the F-series and has been since its initial release in 1999. As a heavy-duty truck, it falls under the Ford Super Duty range. Like the other models in the F-Series, there have been four generations as of 2017.
It is the second smallest model in the Super Duty range, sitting between the F-250 and F-450 pickups. It is also considered a staple of the Super Duty range, along with the F-Series as a whole.
Like its siblings in the range, the F-350 features the typical pickup truck configurations seen today. The most notable of these include the 2-door regular cab, 2-door Super Cab, and 4-door Crew Cab.
There are also other options for various box lengths to aid in customization options. It is also offered in single and dual-rear-wheel drivetrains. In addition to this, there are also certain trim options that feature four-wheel drive.
As with the rest of Ford’s full-size trucks, the F-350 goes up against the likes of the Chevrolet Silverado 3500 and the RAM 3500HD - older models would have gone up against the Dodge Ram. These are the staple rivals of the F-Series.
Trim levels are fairly extensive and mirror the other models in the Super Duty Series. These are the XL, followed by the XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited.
The latest version of the F-350 has been fitted with either a 6.2 L V8 or a 7.3 L V8 petrol engine.
Diesel engines are limited to only a 6.7 L Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel. All of these engines are mated with a 10-speed automatic transmission regardless of trim.
However, the list of previous engine options is pretty extensive.
A fifth generation of the model is expected to be released in 2023.
