Serving the supermini (or subcompact) car class is the Honda Fit, also called the Honda Jazz in some regions.

It began selling in 2001 as a replacement for the Logo model - which was discontinued because of its low safety score.

This new Fit/Jazz saw fantastic safety scores from NHTSA and Euro NCAP who scored it 4 out of 5 and 5 out of 5 stars across varying disciplines.

These safety ratings continued to climb with the introduction of the second generation model with an almost near-perfect score from NHTSA, losing one star for rollover risk.

A fourth-generation model was introduced in 2020 but it won't be sold in North America like the previous versions, instead, Honda is pushing the HR-V there.

The new Fit/Jazz has a range of smaller efficient i-VTEC engines to make the most out of the small space under the hood mated to either a 5 or 6-speed manual transmission.

A hybrid option is available for the 1.5 liter engine that captures lost energy during braking and recycles it using the CVT transmission.

Sales peaked in 2013 just after the introduction of the third-generation Honda Fit/Jazz perhaps as many car buyers started to flock to the subcompact crossover SUVs that were hitting the market.
