One of the largest cars in the Audi range, the A7, first made its debut in 2010. Since its release, there have been only two generations to be unveiled. The latest of these first hit the markets in 2018.
As its name indicates, the executive coupe sits near the top of the Audi family in terms of size, putting it above the A6 and below the A8 in the Audi family.
There have been a variety of high-performance versions released by Audi as well. One of the most notable of these was the S7, which was on the market between 2012 and 2017. There was also the RS7. This was available between 2013 and 2019.
Competition from outside of the family has typically come from the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series, and Genesis G80 depending on the region in question.
Trim levels for the A7 have consisted of just three choices, with the addition of the S7 and RS7. These include the Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige.
There has also been the special edition A7 Sportback Black Edition, which debuted in 2013.
The model has been offered with a wide range of engines, mainly petrol but with some diesel options.
Petrol engines have ranged from a 1.8 L inline-4 found in the first generation to a 4.0 L V8 found in the RS7 models. Diesel engines have consisted of either a 2.0 L inline-4 or a 3.0 L V6, although the V6 was only introduced with the second generation.
There has also been a PHEV version, which was fitted with the 55 TFSi 2.0 L engine.
