The 107 first entered the market in 2005 as the successor to the 106. The model was then produced until its discontinuation in 2014.

During its time on the market, there was only one generation to be unveiled, but it did receive two modest facelifts. These came about in 2009 and 2012. Both of these included updating the interior and exterior styling.

The 107 shares a great deal of similarities with its corporate cousin, the Citroen C1. This is fairly common for Peugeot.

Interestingly, their development was a joint venture between the French carmakers and Toyota, which means that the 107, C1, and Toyota Aygo are virtually the same car.

While development with a Toyota can have its benefits, this actually caused issues for both of the French versions when all models were recalled in 2010. This was because of an accelerator problem that the Aygo was prone to suffering.

Other competition in the class includes the Volkswagen Up! along with its corporate siblings the SEAT Mii and the Skoda Citigo.

Peugeot released a huge number of trim levels over the years. Including special editions, these were in excess of 14 different trim options which is certainly more than most other models on the market.

Only two engine options were released during its time on the market. These were a single 1.0 L inline-3 petrol and a single 1.4 inline-4 diesel option. Both of these were coupled with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automated manual transmission.

Of course, only the 107 name was discontinued in 2014. The model itself was carried on with the release of its successor, the 108. However, the model was finally retired in 2021.
