Built by the luxury Korean car manufacturer Genesis, the G70 is a four-door compact executive sedan.

Genesis is a premium division of the Hyundai Motor Company that unveiled the G70 on September 15th, 2017 at Seouls Olympic Park.

The G70 made up the third model released from Genesis and was built purposefully to compete with other smaller saloons and sedans from rival luxury manufacturers, such as the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class, Lexus IS, Acura TLX and Alfa Romeo Giulia.

Winning North America's car of the year in 2019, the G70 took a number of years to develop with the concept vehicle shown first at the New York International Auto Show. Designed by Peter Schreyer, a German car designer also responsible for the Kia Stinger, the G70 shares similarities with its sister cars, the G80 and G90.

Features particular to the G70 were the LED daytime running lights, soft-touch plastic and fully customizable climate control. Lexicon audio supports the 15 surround sound speaker system which can be plugged into by using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

2020 saw a facelift with a new front bumper and grille along with headlights and taillights.

Genesis added a station wagon to the line, just for the European market with a 2-liter turbocharged petrol engine or a 2.2-liter diesel.

Following a number of tests undertaken for Euro NCAP, the Genesis G70 achieved an outstanding 5 stars (out of a possibly 5) totaling 132.4 points, with 89% for adult safety and a score of 87% for children, the latter a rather impressive safety score when compared to other vehicles of the same time.
